The project is a result of our urban design studio. This was the first time we dropped designing the hectares of masterplans to actually respond to real needs. The idea followed the MSRL project, where one of the teams cooperated with the community of Mt. Angel, OR, and prepared a real Public Space Manual, applicable in their town.

So after the MSRL project, our professors continued the Mt. Angel cooperation and challenged us to design something really useful and applicable for the community. The idea was to improve the public space via simple, relatively low-budget proposals. The whole group of ~30 people came up with different ideas and developed them to the state that can be applied according to the action plan which is included in the project booklet (soon to be published).

We were just a part of the whole portfolio of the projects, but we are proud to present you the Fun Lanes, which we think, may change the way we commute. Please check out our short introduction film and see our 13 pages of hard work.
