The Poetry of Tides

The idea is to connect people and the water using natural forces which created the city: the current of Elbe river and tides of the North Sea. These forces determine the usability of the space and twice a day perform an event of building the connection.

I can say that what the concept brought to the urban planning, is the exceptional kind of place-making that hardly ever is proposed – the periodic event, which maintains and enhances the genius loci of the place, generating connections between people and creating relationship with the environment and physical forces. That was really unique!
